Road up to Mount Evans

This is on our drive up toward the summit. These are some breathtaking views out the passenger window.
More pics.. On the way down there were even better views but the road was getting too crowded. Okay, three cars on the road gave it the impression of being crowded.
Sadly my husband didn't get time to admire the view. Something about the winding road made him not interested in looking out the window.
That tiny blurb on the left is my son. And yeah, he decided he really needed to wear shorts that day. He learned shorts and high altitude are not a good combination.

Mount Evans Trail

Sorry-these pictures are reversed. This picture above is where we turned around at. We didn't make it all the way to the end. Yeah, it was because of me. We stopped at a rocky corner and I took this shot. That's my hubby in the corner. Kids were actually moving ahead because they wanted to see what was around the corner. My kids have no fear of heights.
Here's on the dirt trail leading up. Very pretty. Don't laugh at me. But I had to stop and sort of lean against a tree to get this shot. I was getting a little dizzy looking over the edge.
Here's another shot. A storm was moving in here. We didn't see it but we heard about it afterwards.
Here's a picture of the trail we were following. Yeah...it looks wider in this picture but it looked really narrow when I was walking on it.

Echo Lake

Heh...I won't even say how long it took me to set this up but here goes again. Echo Lake sits at 10,600 feet. Beautiful area to go walking around. They have an easy path that you can push a baby carriage around if you want.
Here's more pictures of the lake while I was walking around the path. We arrived in the early morning so there few folks there fishing. By the time we left there were lots of folks out and about.
There are ducks there. I know...zoom lens would've been good to use but I was having enough trouble juggling stuff without trying to change lenses.
My son just had to see what was up the hill. I would say it was a guy thing but my daughter is in there somewhere chasing after him.

The future of this Blog

I’m a collector of things, and I don’t like letting things go. Yes, I’m little obsessive like that. It figures, huh?

So, no, I won’t close this blog but it will go through a change. Everything changes, so why shouldn’t this? I’m going to make this into my picture blog. I always wanted one so why not change this over to it?

Over this week I’ll be changing the color schemes and the header to make a better background for pictures. And for my writing updates and family humor, please check out my LJ.

Thanks all! I look forward to seeing you all over on my journal!
